Members include local, regional and national publications.
API members support a free press and democratic values.
Member organizations collaborate and support each other.
Together we contribute to the development of independent media in the country.
Projects we are proud of
The STOP FALS Campaign
is the most complex and dynamic civil society initiative to combat disinformation and promote critical thinking. Through its activities, API shields citizens from falsehoods, speculation, and manipulation. This helps them develop the ability to analyze and react critically to information.
The “Know Your Candidate” Campaign
aims to inform voters about the integrity of candidates running for various public offices in parliamentary, presidential, local, and Gagauzia elections. Using criteria developed by experts from civil society organizations, investigative journalists analyze candidates’ professional backgrounds, assets, property, and potential conflicts of interest. They then document and publish the candidates’ integrity profiles on the Moldovacurata.md portal.
Crisis Communication Chapters
are local action networks created to manage public communication effectively in crisis situations. They facilitate dialogue among authorities, citizens, civil society, and local media. Through training, networking, and the production and distribution of thematic explanatory materials, these networks contribute to the informational resilience of communities.
The Support Fund for Print Media Distribution
covers the distribution costs of national and local/regional periodicals that meet quality and integrity criteria, as confirmed by API monitoring. A decision by the Government of the Republic of Moldova establishes this mechanism for compensating distribution costs, with the aim of ensuring the sustainability and economic resilience of newspapers that provide information of public interest.
The BLACK BOOK of Public Money Waste
is an annual compilation of well-documented investigative reports that present cases of inefficient spending, abuse, and waste of public funds in the Republic of Moldova, including those provided by development partners. API has compiled this book since 2019.
e-Learning.api.md
is an interactive and innovative online training platform designed for practicing journalists, journalism students, communicators, and civil servants interested in disseminating public information and consolidating their knowledge and professional skills. A good professional always strives to be better.
The Moldova Media Forum
is the most important annual event for the Moldovan journalism community, and is organized by the Press Council in partnership with API, IJC, and APEL. The Forum brings together journalists, media managers, experts, and government representatives for discussions and debates on the state of the media in Moldova, access to information of public interest, legislative priorities in this area, and professional standards and journalistic ethics. The conclusions are included in the Forum Resolution. The agenda includes workshops, thematic presentations by foreign journalists and media experts, special events, and award ceremonies recognizing the best journalistic practices.
